Health Practitioners are essential to ensuring Queenslanders are given the best possible A Health Practitioner with an elderly patienthealth care and are prevented from ill-health wherever possible. We are hard-working professionals who are called upon by our community every day.

We are also proud union members who make a difference to our working conditions by standing together collectively.

As a Health Practitioner (or HP), this site is your resource for the next round of collective bargaining happening this year in 2010. Here you will find updates and information about the campaign for a new collective agreement that protects and improves on working conditions.

The current agreement – HP EB 1 – expires on the 31st of August 2010 so negotiations for a replacement agreement will start soon even though implementation of the first EB is still continuing.

The campaign for a new HP agreement relies on you: the great outcomes we have Hospital corridorachieved in the past have only come about because of the many workers who have made the decision to support their union colleagues. This year we are also combing the two union resources in HP under the banner of HP Stronger Together and QPSU and LHMU members and delegates will hold joint meetings and activities during this campaign.

If you are not already a member of your union, go to www.qpsu.org.au/join to join the QPSU or www.lhmu.org.au/join/forms/new/application.2010-04-28.5006840192/edit. If you are a QPSU member and need to update your union contact details or change the way you pay your fees go to www.qpsu.org.au/eunion/details.php.

If you have a question that you can’t find the answer to here, you can email hp@qpsu.org.au or healthcareteamqld@lhmu.org.au, or call the union office on 1800 177 244 for QPSU members or Member Assist 1800 065 885 for LHMU members.
