HPs' Pay to be Cut?
The Government thinks you deserve to take a pay cut but what do you think?
The Governments wage offer of only 2.5% will see HPs take a wage cut in real terms. This means even with the Governments own modest inflation forecasts that most HPs will be between $1200 and $1500 a year worse off.
Everyday HPs make a difference to the health of all Queenslanders and that makes for a healthier bottom line for the Government.
Does the Treasurer know what vital work you do and how it makes a real difference to Queenslanders and his bottom line? Shouldn't the Treasurer find other ways to balance his budget rather than ask you to take the fall?
Tell the Treasurer your story and why 2.5% is not good enough. Email the Treasurer at treasurer@ministerial.qld.gov.au.
The Queensland Government continues to say that you are not worth a pay increase that will make sure that you can keep up with the cost of living.
With power, mortgages, car payments and groceries needing to be paid, it's hardly time to be taking what effectively will be a pay cut.
The current Qld Government wages offer will mean that means that you will take a pay cut of between $1200 and $1500 a year.
Your work is vitally important to the health of Queenslanders but the Queensland Government says you are just not worth it. In fact they just don't get it.
Some will say it's all too hard. Some will say that they just don't care but it's time to tell your story.
Government representatives are not listening so it's time the Queensland Treasurer heard how important you are to Queenslanders health.
It's time to tell the true story of Health Practitioners to the Treasurer.
Email the Treasurer at treasurer@ministerial.qld.gov.au to tell him what you do and why the work you do is not worth a pay cut.
P.S This is a HP union activity. If you want to join with your fellow HPs and build a stronger HP union, you need to first join at http://www.hpstrongertogether.com/join.htm and then tell the Treasurer at treasurer@ministerial.qld.gov.au it's not good enough. If you like, you can also forward your message to the treasurer to this address (hp@qpsu.org.au) so we can share the stories of our hardworking HPs.
